Overview – Based on a revolutionary unparalleled new media framework, BrightCom’s Visual Collaboration Server (VCS) is expanding the conference room experience with robust, interactive data collaboration integrated with real-time telepresence and video conferencing.

BrightCom’s VCS, a processor based, single network appliance, provides businesses with an all-in-one enterprise class telepresence and video conferencing infrastructure that combines meeting scheduling, administration, firewall NAT traversal and a complete set of integrated video and web conferencing capabilities. Through the VCS online-meeting environment, businesses can log-in to their secured online meeting environment and schedule meetings or start meetings spontaneously.

The VCS has enhanced media and document support enabling businesses to easily collaborate on a wide range of data. Microsoft ® Office files, PowerPoint ® presentations, Adobe Acrobat ® PDF files, high resolution images and video clips can be shared, edited and printed from their native formats, utilizing a lower amount of bandwidth.

Meeting participants can leverage the software-based conferencing infrastructure to remote control other participant’s desktops, cooperatively markup documents and pass control of the meeting to any participant. Other features include interactive white boards, audience polling and instant messaging adding to the teamwork and productivity vital for successful businesses.

The VCS powers BrightCom’s Lumina Telepresence and ClearView Video Conferencing with high definition, standard definition video and audio broadcasts shown in a multi-screen layout chosen by the meeting moderator. Alongside multiple data broadcasts, the VCS can display up to 16 video broadcasts with an unlimited number of meeting participants broadcasting from desktop web cams, conference rooms or telepresence suites around the world. Each telepresence or video conferencing endpoint automatically adjusts the video and data broadcasts to fit the meeting’s contents and participant’s video.

VidyoRouter™ is the first technology to deliver low latency HD-quality video conferencing over the Internet and 3G/4G wireless networks to room-based systems, PCs and Macs, and tables and smart phones.

VidyoRouter’s unique Adaptive Video Layering™ capabilities provides real-time monitoring of the network performance, processing power and display capability for each endpoint and dynamically optimizes the resolution, bit rate and frame rate. As a result, each conference participant receives the highest quality video that his or her device is capable of receiving at any point in time. This patented, intelligent endpoint and network aware software, combined with H.264 SVC, delivers the highest quality, most natural video communication experience over the Internet and general purpose networks. Unlike MCU-based implementations that require expensive proprietary hardware and specialized networks, VidyoRouter™ is deployed on off-the-shelf hardware to deliver unprecedented affordability.

Affordable scalability in the cloud

VidyoRouter™ Cloud Edition introduces a new level of scalability, efficiency and cost-savings for distributed video deployments supporting remote or mobile workers. With VidyoRouter™ Cloud Edition, video conferences can flow across multiple VidyoRouters for unprecedented scalability. Traffic is localized at each VidyoRouter™ to eliminate redundant transmission of video streams and conserve WAN bandwidth resources. VidyoRouters aggregate the video transmissions among themselves to optimize video routing and further reduce bandwidth demands on the network.

VidyoRouter™ Cloud Edition addresses security by easing firewall traversal. VidyoRouters can be deployed on a protected LAN, in the DMZ or via public Internet. VidyoRouters deployed on both sides of a corporate firewall can be securely interconnected using simple static routing rules. This approach offers tremendous cost advantages compared with the proprietary hardware and costly licensing schemes required by MCU-based solutions. With Vidyo, public and private clouds are blended securely, cost-effectively, and without performance impact, delivering the same telepresence-quality experience to users on the corporate network and Internet-connected remote users.
